What is Dandelion Days Pre-Reading Program?
The earliest years of a child’s life are best devoted to play, natural discovery, and gentle exposure to letters and numbers rather than formal instruction. When children are introduced to reading and numeracy before essential foundational skills are secure, it often leads to frustration, resistance to learning, and the need for later intervention. Evidence from early childhood education consistently highlights the importance of the first six years being filled with unstructured, play-rich days that include outdoor time, quality storybooks, and meaningful real-life experiences. The Dandelion Days Pre-School Program was created from this understanding, offering a gentle, holistic approach that prepares children under six for reading and numeracy through story, play, and everyday life.
